They are looking for Support Volunteers to assist and support their participants with the activities they want to get involved in. This could be going with them to the local swimming baths; attending a local football match; taking part in local interest groups such as arts & crafts, music, wellbeing, or just having a blether. They are creating community groups across Fife which will provide individuals who need that wee bit of support to access opportunities that they are interested in and want to get involved with. They want to create an environment to share similar interests, ideas, skills, memories and for participants to take ownership of what they create. By doing this they will ensure that social exclusion and loneliness does not have an effect on their participants and that they are in control of their lives. Support Volunteers can assist participants with their interests and introduce activities and ideas, as well as provide some much-needed support. They will follow covid-19 guidance and volunteers and participants safety is their number one priority. Employment opportunities could also be offered in the future. The aims and objectives for which the group has been established are: To provide a service the provides peer support, bringing its members out of possible loneliness and isolation building self confidence and self esteem. c) Bring awareness to the community of the problems that mental ill health causes and help to eradicate the stigma of mental health issues.
