Greener Kirkcaldy (GK) are looking for Fifers who are passionate about climate change and who enjoy talking to people. They want your help to plan and deliver their programme of climate change engagement events and training in Kirkcaldy.
Their events aim to get the climate conversations going through interactive, thought provoking and fun activities. They may be on a particular climate theme or may be general climate change awareness raising events.
In the past GK have delivered climate cafes, film screenings, staycation pop-up events and attended family fun days. Climate Champion volunteers help them to design and deliver these events.
They would also like you to help deliver their climate change training sessions to community groups.
Events and training take place in-person and online.
You do not need to be a climate expert – training will be provided to get you up to speed. A little understanding of how individual choices can impact global warming would be helpful (e.g. driving/flying less, reusing, buying local etc).
Greener Kirkcaldy is a community-led charity. We work on a local scale to benefit the community and the environment - we believe that everyone gains from being green. We give advice and support to help you reduce your fuel bills, grow or cook with seasonal local food and reduce waste. We also hold fun events, run courses and workshops, and we work with community groups and schools. Our Advice Centre and Eco Shop is at 254a High Street (at the foot of Oswald's Wynd), Kirkcaldy.
