Are you looking for a new challenge, to connect with others and improve your wellbeing? Then volunteering with Girlguiding Edinburgh may be for you. We have many girls in Edinburgh looking to join Girlguiding as Rainbows, Brownies and Guides, so to make this happen, we need new volunteers/members to lead units or to generally help out. We have many roles for you to get involved in so why not join our online event to find out more? You may have registered interest already - in that case, do still come along! Being a member with Girlguiding has so much to offer you, as well as the girls. We will tell you all about this in our event, which will be on Zoom so sign up today. A dedicated venue will be provided for ships' crews to visit and access free soft/hot drinks, wi-fi, and interact with other crew members. This facility will be available in a central location from 10:00 - 20:00hrs each day from Tuesday 25th July - Saturday 29th July (closing at 13:00 on Saturday). Liaison staff will be required to assist crew members with any enquiries and to supervise the area.

The Volunteer Befriender helps residents who feel isolated or unable to get out very easily on their own by giving time on a one to one basis to help a person maintain social contact, provide companionship and reduce loneliness and social isolation. Volunteer befrienders build a positive relationship with an individual and visit them on a regular basis in their own flat. This could mean spending some time with a person for an hour or two every week/fortnight, we also encourage getting out and about for a coffee or short walk. Generally, befrienders are there to chat and get to know someone, have fun. Support the person to continue with existing interests, whilst encouraging them to embark on new activities. Volunteer duties: • Organising visits / trips out on a regular basis. • Support residents with their interests • Encourage residents to embark on new activities • Be a friend and have fun

As trustees, we share the responsibility for good governance, management and control of the Centre. All trustees play a part in financial decision-making and monitoring, to ensure the Centre has a healthy long-term future. This highly rewarding role allows you to give back to your community by shaping the future of the Dunblane Centre. share ideas on how we can improve and develop champion a particular part of the Centre’s activities act as ambassadors and champions for the Centre
