Networking assistant

Description

Fife Headway exists to provide support, information and referrals for people with an acquired brain injury (ABI). They aim to reduce social isolation increase access to information and referral information and empower people with an ABI to have more control over their lives, as well as supporting family and friends.

Duties:

Liaise and build relationships with providers/businesses to include hospitals, GP surgeries, physiotherapists, and local authorities, who can assist Fife Headway in recruiting members (people with an ABI) who will benefit from their services. and to raise awareness of the charity.

Occasionally meet new members at the monthly group and be part of welcoming them.

They are looking for volunteers who are outgoing and friendly. This is a great opportunity to build on your skills and experience to help the work of a small charity in Fife.

Organisation aims and objectives

To help head injured gain a better quality of life, in turn, helping carers . We are aware of people out there in fife who have not heard of Fife Headway and if we can get support to them we will be completing the mission of helping in regaining confidence and make them feel better.

Experience required: No experience required, just dedication and enthusiasm. Outgoing, friendly, and proactive character. Enjoy partnership and development work. Approachable and friendly. Ability to work on own using initiative at times.
Travel details: Linton Lane Community Centre, Linton Lane, Kirkcaldy KY2 6LF. Some board meeting will be on zoom and some in person when permitted.

Our Save the Children Shop in Broughty Ferry has been a much loved part of the local community for years and continues to be hugely popular with customers and supporters, thanks to the kindness and generosity of the wonderful volunteer team. If you would like to volunteer with us all you will need is some enthusiasm and a desire to make a difference. The role is diverse, taking place on the shop floor and behind the scenes. Volunteer tasks include anything from sorting donations, steaming clothes, pricing products, managing the till, and helping with the window displays. You can choose how much time you dedicate, and we’ll give you training and support along the way. No special skills are needed, and we welcome people from all nationalities and backgrounds. Your donation of time, creativity and kindness can help us change the future for children all over the world!

Living Well Support Volunteer
  • The Ayrshire Hospice
This role is to support people living in our communities to live well with their illness. We currently do this in a variety of ways – face to face in our Hubs, online via zoom, and via activity packs in the post. You could support us in any or all of these formats. The time you would commit to this role would be flexible. Ideally, we would like ongoing (weekly) commitment to the service, particularly for face to face service and social chat online. However, if you can commit a period of time regularly to the hospice e.g. a creative writing course for 6 weeks we would also consider this.
