The group currently meet at St. David’s Church in Kirkintilloch on Monday evenings between 6-8pm, although support from volunteers would be required from 5.30-8.30pm. We are also in the process of starting to plan for a similar social club which would be based through at The Allander Resource Centre and welcome anyone who would be interested in volunteering through that end of the authority too.
Experience required: Good communication and listening skills are essential. An interest in supporting autistic community members and community members with a learning disability to become more independent. Attitudes: Empathy with people who have disability. Patience, kindness and tolerance. An understanding of the potential of arts and crafts, pamper sessions and social outings have on women with additional considerations.
Experience of working with disabled adults and young people would be helpful.
Minimum age: 18
This opportunity is not listed at a specific location but is advertised across East Dunbartonshire.
