The Halliday Foundation use skills and knowledge to build relationships with our service users ensuring individuals know they are valued and feel there is hope. This person-centred approach will then progress onto engaging with other services such as drug rehabilitation programmes and accommodation which will hopefully see light for a future.
The Halliday Foundation aim to support families in Glasgow and surrounding areas by providing wellbeing, play and child development resources to those in need.
We are hoping to recruit two new Thrive Project Volunteers to help us develop and deliver our programme. If you have an interest in childcare, early years or community development, and can offer 3-6 hours of your time each week, we would love to hear from you.
If you are interested in working with children in the future, this would be a good opportunity to gain experience while helping children and families who are facing difficulties.
Volunteer hours are very flexible with various opportunities available.
Duties would include:
• planning/setting up play and learning experiences
• organising resources
• preparing thrive packs to be distributed via our nursery partnership staff
• interacting with families at our Baby & Toddler groups
• attending events and fun days
• helping at our surplus food and preloved clothes stalls
Volunteers will be fully supported by our team leader and there is an opportunity to gain qualifications while volunteering through our college partnership scheme. It is a great chance to make friends and learn new skills while supporting those in need.
If you are interested please click the ‘Apply' button (available when logged in and registered). You will then be contacted by the coordinator by email or phone call. If you have not heard back after 5 working days, the first step is to contact the organisation with the contact details provided. You could also check your junk/spam folder on your emails just in case the response is there. If that doesn’t work out then please feel free to contact Volunteer Glasgow on info@volunteerglasgow.org
