Are you looking for a new challenge, to connect with others and improve your wellbeing? Then volunteering with Girlguiding Edinburgh may be for you. We have many girls in Edinburgh looking to join Girlguiding as Rainbows, Brownies and Guides, so to make this happen, we need new volunteers/members to lead units or to generally help out. We have many roles for you to get involved in so why not join our online event to find out more? You may have registered interest already - in that case, do still come along! Being a member with Girlguiding has so much to offer you, as well as the girls. We will tell you all about this in our event, which will be on Zoom so sign up today. A dedicated venue will be provided for ships' crews to visit and access free soft/hot drinks, wi-fi, and interact with other crew members. This facility will be available in a central location from 10:00 - 20:00hrs each day from Tuesday 25th July - Saturday 29th July (closing at 13:00 on Saturday). Liaison staff will be required to assist crew members with any enquiries and to supervise the area.

Peer support groups have various reasons for coming together. It may be to meet socially, take part in physical activity or learn how to live well with their condition. Each group is unique and tailored to the needs of its local community. Everyone involved with the group will have a say in how the group is run. Integrated Peer Support Groups are fully supported by Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland. Tasks may include: · Acting as contact for CHSS if the Lead Volunteer is unavailable · Setting up and clearing the room · Organising refreshments · Taking the register and collecting subs · Meeting and greeting new members · Organising and taking part in the programme of activities · Supporting and taking part in fundraising e.g. raffles · Promoting the group · Using social media on behalf of the group · Working to the group’s health & safety and other procedures

Taking climate change discussions directly into primary schools across the UK, the Young Climate Warriors Ambassador Programme works to effectively initiate action-stimulating conversation and encourage critical thinking within an educational environment. Using our extensive network of primary schools across the UK, our Ambassadors deliver interactive, animated, in-person assemblies to allow pupils to engage with climate change in a positive, age-appropriate, and honest manner. Ambassadors for Young Climate Warriors also have the opportunity to develop further projects within their partner schools, continuing to support climate education and conversation through the implementation of eco-clubs, publication and distribution of newsletters, and employment of our social media comms systems. Young Climate Warriors provides all Ambassadors with training to prepare them for the assemblies, and we continue to offer support and guidance throughout the position, as well as providing travel expenses and remuneration for each assembly delivered. You will receive training to strengthen your presentation and engagement skills, and the continued support that we provide will allow you to continue to enhance and develop these skills throughout your position. Becoming a part of a wider network of climate activism organizations (Young Climate Warriors works together with The Climate Coalition, Our Shared World, Let’s Go Zero, and Transform Our World, amongst others), you will be able to make a substantial contribution to a large community dedicated to combatting climate change, and brought into connection with others who are committed to progressing towards a better future. The role can be entirely flexible within the volunteers' schedule. PLEASE NOTE: This opportunity will require PVG membership. There will be no cost to the volunteer for this procedure.
