Dyslexia Scotland Borders is a volunteer led branch of Dyslexia Scotland. The role of the branch is to raise awareness and understanding of dyslexia by holding meetings which anyone with an interest is welcome to attend. The branch committee meets around 4 times a year in order to plan their open meetings and discuss branch business.
Role Description :
Dyslexia Scotland Borders is looking for some new committee volunteers to help us plan our events for the public. We’d love a few more people on board to help us think of meeting topics, help organise venues, assist at meetings and help at events such as pop-up stalls.
We would be particularly keen to hear from young people/adults with dyslexia, parents/carers and professionals such as teachers/educators. ‘Expertise’ in dyslexia is not needed as the branch gets support from Dyslexia Scotland’s national office.
Our committee is very friendly and informal and we’d welcome any new interest. Currently we are holding our committee meetings online. We plan to offer a mixture of online/face to face for the public going forward.
Dyslexia Scotland aims to help people with dyslexia in Scotland reach their full potential. We do this through our national Helpline, training, events and volunteer-led branches across Scotland which hold meetings open to the public.
