Sling Library Coordinator

Description

Are you keen to support parents who want to Carry their babies using a sling or a carrier? As part of the wider NCT branch you will be responsible for hiring slings to parents and parents to be, ensuring that the paperwork is all recorded correctly and deposit returned to hirer. This could be done at a group or as doorstep collections/deliveries.

Our vision is of a world in which no parent is isolated and all parents are supported to build a stronger society. Our charitable purposes is to: *offer information and support in pregnancy, birth and early parenthood. *campaign to improve maternity care and ensure better services and facilities for new parents. *give every parent the chance to make informed choices. *make sure that everyone has access to our services and activities. Locally, in Aberdeen City and the 'shire we provide support for parents and parents-to-be by being the local face of NCT. We run weekly groups, fundraising events and social events as well as a variety of training courses.

A dedicated venue will be provided for ships' crews to visit and access free soft/hot drinks, wi-fi, and interact with other crew members. This facility will be available in a central location from 10:00 - 20:00hrs each day from Tuesday 25th July - Saturday 29th July (closing at 13:00 on Saturday). Liaison staff will be required to assist crew members with any enquiries and to supervise the area.

Community Support Volunteers support people who have had one of our conditions to develop autonomy and confidence in self-management, enabling them to fully engage with their community and activities of their choosing. The service follows a pathway from hospital to community and can be delivered in a one-to-one and/or a group setting. The service will all depend on Scottish Government Covid guidelines. The service can be delivered to provide specified person-centred communication support for those with a communication difficulty and/or to support a specific physical or everyday task. To undertake your role you will be required to undertake membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Adults) schemes in Scotland (PVG).

Retail Volunteer - Inverurie

Volunteer with us in our Inverurie shop and help make a real difference in your local community! Our volunteers are vital in helping run our shops and raising funds to help make sure people with chest, heart and stroke conditions get the support they need to live their lives to the full. This is an exciting role in our new Inverurie shop that would be suitable for someone looking to gain retail or customer service experience, or a friendly individual with a helpful disposition interested in making a contribution to their local community. One of our wonderful shop volunteers Anne shares why she loves volunteering in store, “I wanted to learn new skills as well as get to know more people locally, so volunteering in the shop was ideal.
