Volunteering with Guide Dogs is life-changing – and not just for the people we support. Join one of our amazing roles and be part of the pack and you’ll quickly see how the time you give benefits people with sight loss, our four-legged friends and you!
Our Hamilton and East Kilbride Fundraising Group seeks volunteer fundraisers who can support their local events (across South Lanarkshire), or our North Lanarkshire or Glasgow groups, and help raise money for an important cause. If you enjoy chatting to people, visiting new places and inspiring people to donate to a life-changing cause, this volunteering role for you. (We have around 400 groups across the UK, so if you live out with South Lanarkshire, there may be a group closer to you!)
Our fundraising groups are an important presence in our local communities. They organise a wide range of events and collections that raise vital awareness and funds for our life-changing services that support people with sight loss.
In this flexible role, you can get involved as much or as little as works for you.
You can help by:
Getting involved and supporting local events run by your team, which could include anything from quiz nights to coffee mornings, to collections or sponsored walks.
Using your communication skills to chat and tell people about Guide Dogs and why we need their support.
Helping spread the word about your team’s events on social media and to your local networks.
Using your imagination and creativity to suggest new fundraising ideas that could raise money for Guide Dogs. All suggestions are welcome!

Guide Dogs also offer a 'come and try' session, email for info.
Guide Dogs is one of the UK’s leading sight loss charities. Their expert staff, volunteers and life-changing guide dogs help people with sight loss live the life they choose. They support children and adults with a vision impairment, through a range of services. They couldn’t continue their vital work without generous donations and their amazing volunteers. At Guide Dogs Scotland, there are a range of volunteer opportunities including fundraising group members, lead fundraising roles, puppy raising and fostering training guide dogs. The charity also offers free training in how to guide adults with sight loss.
