· Access to a car, as we need people who can start straight away
· Under 60 years’ old

We have a very specific urgent appeal for Volunteer Drivers. We desperately need more volunteer drivers to take patients to their cancer treatment in the North Ayrshire area. Due to the Coronavirus social distancing guidelines we need many more drivers. If you are under the age of 60, have an up-to-date Disclosure or PVG and have access to a reliable car please get in touch. We will reimburse travelling expenses for Volunteers.

Our Volunteer Drivers provide transport to and from cancer patient’s homes to hospitals in Glasgow and locally for cancer treatment. The service is especially useful for those who feel unwell after treatment, those living in rural areas, elderly patients and parents taking children for treatment. Your help is greatly appreciated in this time of need.

Organisation aims and objectives

The aims of the Group are to relieve the sufferng and distress of cancer sufferers and their families in the North Ayrshire District and its environs by:- a) providing home care, shopping, transport and other services to those in need of support. b) providing counselling services for patients and their families. c) providing any other services compatible with the aims of the Group

Camp Team Mate
  • Over the Wall
Over The Wall is a charity that helps children, young people and their families, living in the UK, reach beyond the boundaries of their health challenges to discover a world of mischief, magic and new possibilities. We do this by providing free of charge, transformative activity camps throughout the UK. Teammates are an essential part of camp, supporting campers throughout their time at Camp, building fantastic relationships whilst encouraging and inspiring and empowering campers as they complete camp activities. Campers will be divided into teams based on the age groups of 8-10, 11-13, 13-15 and 15-17. You will be part of a team of other amazing Volunteers supporting Campers in a wide range of activities, including Archery, Zip Wire, Rock Climbing, Arts and Crafts, Discovery, Sports and Games and encouraging them to reflect on what they have achieved in evening Cabin Chats. You will also look after the day-time and night-time needs of the Campers in their accommodation. Training is provided both before and at camp to ensure you have all the information you need for camp to be a great experience for you and the campers.
