Assistant Coach & Trainer

Aberdeen Amateur Boxing & Athletic Club is an organisation deeply seated into the community in and around Aberdeen. It is one of the oldest boxing clubs in Scotland.

The organisation is making a formal call to recruit new voluntary members. This opportunity arises as a new Club team is being developed. The role will focus on the following key areas:
-Assisting the Head Coach with the following:
-Traditional boxing training and coaching
-Helping build up the club members
-Be able to develop and deliver a range of different fitness training for different age groups.
-To develop, build and sustain dynamic boxing and fitness programmes that will attract and retain members.
-Liaise with Boxing Scotland and any affiliated organisations or groups as and when necessary.
-Assist, where necessary with booking enquiries and organising boxing or fitness classes.
-Source and advise on matters that will improve the business of the organisation, wherever appropriate

It is one of the oldest boxing clubs in Scotland, founded in 1920, and boasts a very impressive list of achievements, being the most successful and well known organisation of its kind in the North of Scotland.

Experience required: Excellent people skills with a good range of communication and organisational skills. Must be committed and reliable, a great team worker with the ability to work on their own initiative as well.
Travel details: Central Aberdeen.
Minimum age: 18

Expenses details: All expenses need to receive pre-approval and only then can be met by Aberdeen ABC or other clubs if it is their event or the Boxing Scotland Ltd’s event.

They are looking for Cooks who can prepare simple cooked lunches for groups between 5 and 15 people. Groups meet once or twice a week but there is no need to commit to both days. Groups run from 9:30 am to 1:00 pm with lunch served at 12 noon; the cook can start at a suitable time to achieve this, finishing when clearing up has finished. Each venue has a good size and well-equipped kitchen. Lunch provided, travel expenses reimbursed, free parking at all venues. A Volunteer from Central Fife said - I really enjoyed volunteering here over past 10 months, it will be sad to leave, it's been a very meaningful experience, and I have learnt a lot.

Social Group Assistant

How can you have fun, gain confidence and help others at the same time? By becoming a social group assistant with Express Group Fife! Express Group Fife is a mental health charity, operating in Fife for almost 50 years. They provide social group activities and engage with people over 18 experiencing poor mental health. They are looking for a Social Group Assistants for their groups listed below. Activities involved: setting up the hall (tables and chairs, but not at every location), socialising with service users, serving tea/coffee, taking part/assisting in activities (e.g. board games, bingo, crafts). There is always a Group Coordinator facilitating the group and very often also a Case Worker who can work individually with service users when needed. Time: 9:30 am to 1:00 pm, lunch provided, travel expenses reimbursed, free parking at all venues. A Volunteer from Central Fife said - I really enjoyed volunteering here over past 10 months, it will be sad to leave, it's been a very meaningful experience, and I have learnt a lot.

Committee Member
  • ENeRGI (East Neuk Recovery Group Initiative)
ENeRGI SCIO is a mental health charity based in the East Neuk of Fife. Volunteers are needed to join its committee. You will be responsible for governing the charity, helping to shape policy and its vision for the future. ENeRGI is a SCIO registered charity established since 1995. Committee Members are asked to attend Committee Meetings, which take place once every two months, and usually last 1 hour to 90 minutes, and the ENeRGI Annual General Meetings, usually held in December. Committee roles available or you can remain as an ordinary trustee with just attendance and input expected. This is an opportunity to gain new skills and contribute to a great community project. Interested parties over the age of 16 are welcome to apply.
