Circle of Comfort is a Fife-based charity that provides complementary therapies to people diagnosed with Cancer. This is provided in their own home/ in hospital, free of charge. The charity also has agreements with Cornhill Macmillan Centre at Perth and Parkinson’s UK, Fife Branch, to provide their service.
Circle of Comfort’s board meets on a three-monthly basis. They need a Treasurer to join the team of trustees – you should have a qualification in accountancy.
The Treasurer will -
Liaise with Chairperson and Executive Committee to ensure the financial viability of the organisation (balance sheet, cash flow, fundraising performance, etc.).
Undertake bookkeeping duties and ensuring posting and bookkeeping is kept up to date.
Arrange payments to employee(s), (currently one part-time person) creditors as appropriate and arrange appropriate authorisations on payments.
Make Gift Aid claims to HMRC.
Attend the organisation's Executive Meetings (quarterly) and the Annual General Meeting and report on the financial position (balance sheet, cash flow, fundraising performance, etc.).
Prepare annual accounts for submission to OSCR and liaise with an independent examiner.
We fund a team of highly qualified and experienced Complementary Therapists who support people living with Cancer, Multiple Sclerosis and Parkinson’s Disease by delivering reflexology, aromatherapy massage and therapeutic massage. This unique service is free and is given in the clients own home or in hospital. We receive client referrals from healthcare professionals and clients can also self-refer to us directly.

The role would require a qualified person with experience in accountancy
Experience required: A qualification in accountancy is required for this role as well as knowledge and experience of current and fundraising financial practice relevant to voluntary and community organisations. Ability to communicate clearly.
Travel details: Meetings take place online or in Dunfermline
