Exciting news!
We're opening a brand-new shop on Academy Street in Inverness this December - and we're looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join our team!
Our shops play a vital role in supporting Highland Hospice, helping to fund compassionate care across the Highlands. As a retail volunteer, you'll work alongside the Shop Manager and fellow team members to keep the shop running smoothly and raise funds through the sale of donated and new items.

Volunteer Role Includes:
Delivering excellent customer service
Sorting, pricing and displaying stock
Operating the till and handling cash
Keeping the shop clean, tidy and welcoming
Following retail and organisational policies
Learning about and sharing the work of the Highland Hospice

What we're looking for:
Honesty
Friendly and helpful attitude
Reliability and good timekeeping
Flexibility and willingness to adapt
Great customer service skills

Community Volunteer Gardener
  • Drylaw Neighbourhood Centre
The aim of this project is to bring people together of all ages to grow and share the harvest from our community garden. Crops harvested from the garden will be used to create simple healthy meals or snacks, and feed the community. Tasks involved are basic gardening tasks (no prior knowledge needed), planting seeds, potting up, weeding, watering and harvesting of the crops. For the more experienced gardeners propagation and pruning techniques will be taught, and effort will be made to upskill as you need.

In the Movement For Memories programme you will have the opportunity to support those living with dementia to access physical activity opportunities. You will work on a 1:1 basis with a person living with dementia to help them access swimming, tennis, golf, the gym, or fitness classes. You will offer them support and encouragement to help them enjoy and participate in their chosen activity. You will also complete observation sheets so we can see how the participant is getting on.

In June 2019 Heart Research UK launched the Heart of Scotland Appeal, 48 people a day in Scotland die of heart disease. The heart of Scotland Appeal is to raise money to be spent in Scotland funding cutting edge research projects. The Heart of Scotland Appeal is calling you to help us spread the word in your communities. We are looking for people who will help us flyer at hospitals, GP's, community groups etc. We are also looking for research volunteer to help us reach out to online communities.
