The RNLI’s Lifeboat Station in Portpatrick is looking for a volunteer to lead the existing team in the role of Lifeboat Operations Manager.
For nearly 140 years an all-weather lifeboat has operated from Portpatrick's picturesque harbour. The crews have been honoured with five awards for gallantry, including a Bronze Medal for a launch to one of the worst peacetime disasters involving a British merchant vessel.
The Lifeboat Crew are all volunteers, headed up by the Lifeboat Operations Manager and Deputy Launching Authorities and supported by a Shore Crew team. All boat and shore crew follow the RNLI’s national Competency Based Training Scheme and respond to pagers when there is a request to launch the lifeboats. The wider team includes volunteer fundraisers, shop volunteers and youth education presenters.
The impact you will make
This role will help us save lives at sea by carrying out the day to day management of the lifeboat station to ensure a permanent state of readiness for service.
What you will be doing
Authorise launch of the lifeboats
Provide leadership of the operations team
Ensure that all operational activities are carried out to maintain the lifeboats and all associated equipment in a constant state of readiness for launching on service

You must live or work within close proximity of the station and be between 18 and 70 years of age

We are looking for a volunteer to help with administrative tasks at our lovely circus centre. The main tasks involved in the role are:
replying to and distributing emails
managing online bookings, using our online booking system TeamUp (no worries if you have no experience with TeamUp -you will be introduced to everything that is new for you!)
creating written content for social media advertising
updatiing excel spreadsheets
At Cats Protection we help thousands of cats and kittens each year thanks to our dedicated and passionate volunteer groups. We have over 250 branches across the UK, all of which help our feline friends in different ways. Branches take in stray and abandoned cats and ensure they receive the veterinary care and attention they deserve, help raise funds, promote neutering and help spread cat welfare messages. Our branch team leader volunteers lead their local team by supporting and managing volunteers within their group, maintaining communications with both volunteers and staff, and helping promote a positive and professional image of Cats Protection.
What can you expect to be doing?
Supporting your team of volunteers in all aspects of their roles, making sure volunteers are happy and confident
Making sure the team observes charity best practice and compliance
Collaborating with your Branch Development Manager (BDM) to plan volunteer activity
Leading the team to follow Cats Protection policies, procedures and guidelines
Monitoring expenditure and helping ensure long term financial stability of the volunteer group
Organising and chairing team meetings
Acting as an ambassador for Cats Protection
Care And Share Companionship support people living in the Kirkcaldy area over the age of 60, who are experiencing isolation and loneliness. They have an exciting opportunity to join their volunteer board of trustees and are seeking an enthusiastic and organised individual to fulfil the role of secretary on their board. The responsibilities of the secretary office bearer role include:
-Scheduling and organising Board and AGM meetings
-Working with the Chairperson to set the agendas of Board and AGM meetings
-Notifying details of upcoming meetings to attendees
-Preparing and issuing necessary paperwork for the meetings
-Recording and circulating the minutes of Board and AGM meetings, ensuring that they faithfully reflect all key conversations, decisions and actions
-Ensuring that meeting actions are addressed by those responsible in a timely manner
-Ensuring that all meetings comply with Care and Share Companionship’s Constitution (the charity’s governing document) -Advising on good governance practices
-Facilitating the induction of new board members

This is a voluntary role and you would be responsible for the finances of the District, supporting the Group Treasurers and attending the District committee meetings among other tasks. This is a fully supported role, you would have the District Commissioner, District Chair and District Secretary helping you along the way.

CLASP is a long established charity, working across North Ayrshire to offer support to people aged 50+ through provision of a range of services and activities to reduce isolation and loneliness, and improve health and wellbeing. We offer:
- Localised access to advice and information on issues affecting social inclusion
- Advice to ensure local people and groups gain an increased knowledge of their rights and their capacity to actively address issues affecting the quality of their lives
- Assistance in accessing training and educational opportunities to gain transferable skills, enabling individuals to access employment and further educational opportunities

We are looking for a Chairperson who is committed to the aims of the Orkney Multiple Sclerosis Therapy Centre charity to aid and improve the condition of those suffering with multiple sclerosis in Orkney. You will help the committee, staff and volunteer operatives as we support clients and run our Centre on Junction Road in Kirkwall.
The Centre consists of a two person oxygen chamber, a physiotherapy surgery and a massage surgery - all things that can help alleviate symptoms of MS - and is a space for connecting and supporting clients and their carers. The oxygen chamber is where clients have pure oxygen therapy wearing an individual mask sitting in a pressurized chamber and the Chairperson will be trained and supported to use this with clients.
