We are a voluntary organisation in Forfar and centre-based day care for adults in Forfar and the surrounding area. We are looking to increase our volunteers at the centre to assist our dedicated staff team!
The centre is looking for volunteers assist within the centre, with activities and socialise with members. Assiting staff to allow us to offer more variety in our activities as well as Activity Volunteers to share a talent or interest they have with our service user group. For example: Arts & Crafts, Sports, Baking, Gardening, Woodworking, Origami, Exercises, the list could be endless!

Our Introduction to Sport class is aimed at Under 5's & their parent or carer. Little one's have the chance to explore a range of sports equipment inspired by Free Play and structured games or activities. The sports coaches help with all aspects of the class. They plan and execute a fun and enjoyable session which allows the families to interact with one another and build positive relationships through sports. Songs, Dance & Smiles is an intergenerational class that is aimed at Under 5’s & their parent or carer and older adults. The hope is to create relaxed sessions that bring joy and form long lasting friendships. Participants are led on an adventure of exploration and magic as they learn and develop language and social skills using a variety of props that stimulate the imagination and senses. Sessions are created to focus on interactive participation for everyone.
What you could expect:

• Collecting fruit from the local supermarket

Our Glow Sports program launched in Arbroath in 2018 and was run in partnership with Active Schools Angus to offer FREE UV sports sessions to primary aged children. Following the success of The People's Project campaign, we secured funding to continue to expand our GLOW sessions within our area. Alongside our work in schools, our funding has allowed us to provide FREE Glow Sports activities in partnership across Angus.
Our sports coaches plan and deliver exciting multi-sport sessions that can be completed in the dark with the use of UV lights. Travelling between Dundee and Angus areas to provide these fun sessions for all children.
What can you expect to be doing?

We are looking for someone with
• With experience in DJing or music
• A friendly and outgoing personality

We ask for a flexible commitment throughout the week. Most sessions last 1 hour. However, there may be more than 1 session at a time. Time for travelling is also considered.

The art and craft groups operating under the constituted group PCCC, aim to provide local, accessible and affordable creative opportunities for adults aged 16yrs+. The groups provide creative outlets for those who have an interest in the arts, as well as theraputic influences for those wishing to maintain or improve their overall health and wellbeing. Research has proven that local community opportunities that provide a purpose, a social network and safe, supportive environments are key for all who wish to have positive quality of life. The importance of such approaches has been highlighted within the Scottish Government with the recent consultation around a ‘Connected Scotland’ looking to identify and combat loneliness and isolation at the local level.
The Treasurer role involves all aspects of financial management, working closely with other members of the Management Committee to safeguard the organisation's finances. Financial reporting, banking, book keeping and record keeping. The Treasurer will be an authorised signatory to release funds and be accountable for accurate record keeping. The Treasurer will ensure accounts are audited in a timely manner.
What will I be doing?
Social isolation and loneliness is a huge issue in the Moray Area. As a volunteer mentor you would be matched with a young person who you would spend regular time on a 1:1 basis, you would work towards building a trusting relationship. You would take part in activities that is of interest to your young person, such as cooking, sports, and crafts. You would look to introduce them to new activities to help them learn new skills and develop new interests. Mentors can range from age 14 and over and don’t have to have previous experience working with Young people.

For our Young people having a mentor can make such a positive impact on their lives and help change their future. Through having a mentor a young person can develop confidence and self-belief to achieve their life goals. As a volunteer you will gain practical experience of spending time with children and increase your knowledge about the issues affecting young people. Caithness KLICS [Kids living in Careing situations]
Caithness KLICS support young people with Care responsibilities for a family Member. To enable the young person to socialise with peers, they affer a social club in Fridays, Tuesdays & Thursdays in Thurso. Volunteers are needed to help with activities, set up and tidy up. It could be board games, or activities inside or outside games, help with snacks and general hanging- out with the young carers while at the centre.
What will I be doing?
Aberlour Sycamore Services offer a safe and loving place to live for children who have experienced abuse or trauma. As a volunteer Befriender, you can play an active role in supporting a child emotionally, socially and helping them to enjoy a range of opportunities and activities. Volunteer Befrienders spend regular 1:1 time with a child to build up a trusting relationship, to develop interests and hobbies, and to be a consistent figure in a child’s life to support them through life transitions.

Children living in our Sycamore Residential Services can benefit hugely from having a Befriender. Spending time on a 1:1 basis allows children to develop their communication skills and build their confidence and self-esteem through sharing in a fun activity.

The TNYP runs by Angus Council Vibrant Communities Team on Thursday nights during school term times at the Wellbank Village Hall. The project aims to fill the gap between home and school learning and support young people who go through a transition period. It opens to all young people aged P6-S2, who live within Murroes & Wellbank or in the surrounding areas.
We would like to invite volunteers, whether parents, carers or anyone who is interested in this project, to work with us to make this project even more fun and sustainable!
DD8 music is thrilled to be looking for volunteers to involve in running our Discovery Project where young people will learn the fundamentals of DJing from the basics of rhythm and timing; to using filters, effects, scratching and looping. Effectively structuring a mix teaches young people to create and follow a plan, improve their timekeeping skills and problem solving; whilst thinking critically and creatively to enhance skills and technical repertoire. The programme will give the young people a core knowledge of the musical theory such as key changes, waveforms, and BPM and the ability to implement this into their mixes. Sessions are a combination of theory and practical lessons; the theory aspect of the sessions include presentations, games, and group work.
DD8 Music are looking for volunteers close to Arbroath for a couple of projects
# DJ Discovery project running on a Tuesday evening 5.30-7.30pm in central Arbroath. There will be plenty of opportunity to help run a fun DJ workshop with our trained staff, learn about how to transport and set up music equipment, get experience teaching basic skills and working with people from a variety of backgrounds.
# DJ Discovery will also be looking for volunteers for a Tuesday or Thursday working in Arbroath High. Times and days are to be confirmed however with more of a focus on working with young people!

This volunteering role will involve a healthy mixture of helping to move music equipment and instruments to our group activity locations, setting up the rooms in preparation of the activities, and tidying up/taking equipment and instruments back, as well as helping during sessions.
Whilst the groups are in session, this role will allow you to supervise and give advice, encouragement, and support to the young people as well as the opportunity to build a rapport with them whilst our staff deliver their session plans. Sessions can either take a more structured, or free form style, so this role will be perfect for you not only if you crave structure, but also if you prefer a more easy-going environment with more space for spontaneous creativity.
This role would be a great opportunity either if you already have some musical ability and knowledge that you want to use, grow, or improve or if you want to help kick start your musical interests through helping others! This role is not only perfect for those with musical interests, as there’s lots of exciting ways of getting involved which can be tailored around you, and your interests and we have plenty of other roles besides!
Key Duties:

· Supervising and supporting young people in trying out instruments and practicing
