We are looking for new members to join Edinburgh Living History. Edinburgh Living History (ELH) is a multi-award-winning group of costumed interpreters. They devise all their own improvised performances and perform to audiences at events including murder mysteries and promenade plays. They assist with school programmes and special tours where they interact with audiences, primarily as the Edwardian residents who lived in Lauriston Castle in the early 20th century.

· Respecting confidentiality, maintaining the persons dignity and comply with the NHS Tayside Confidentiality Policies.

During weekly Positive Notes Singing Groups (Mondays) the volunteer will accompany Occupational Therapy staff on a musical instrument, a piano/keyboard is provided in the rehearsal room but guitar may also be possible. The Volunteer will lead vocal warm ups and also some of the singing.
This may suit a music student, retired teacher or someone with experience of working with choirs or musicals. The Volunteer must be able to read sheet music, adjust keys of songs to suit vocal range, adjust timing to suit the singers and play to a good level. As you will be working with vulnerable adults you will need to be friendly and understanding as the group has of a wide range of additional needs and varying levels of ability.
Client Group: Adults with Learning Disabilities
Core Duties Include:
· Assisting the OT/OTA to deliver the session’s planned programme of activities, vocal games, vocal warm ups, playing songs, teaching new songs.
· Managing your own sheet music.
· Contributing ideas for vocal warm ups and song suggestions.
· Asking the OT/OTA to deal with any client concerns during the session or direct clients to OT staff.
· Complying with NHS Tayside Policy relating to all aspects of volunteering.
· Wearing ID badge at all times whilst in the session.
Additional Duties may include:
· Teaching/demonstrating to clients how to play ukuleles, xylophones, chime bars.
· Accompanying singers at a show twice a year.
7th Braid Edinburgh (George Heriot's School) Scout Group
The Heriot's Beavers and Cubs groups need help! They meet on a Friday evening between 18:30 and 20:00 at George Heriot's School. Cubs are aged 8-10 and Beavers 6-8 years old. The Assistant Leader will support the operation of the group, in particular the planning and delivery of a balanced programme with the help of the Section Leaders. They will actively support and promote the achievement of badges and awards and support the delivery of a safe, exciting and stimulating balanced programme.

Can you raise and maintain awareness of Pushing Out the Boat, the North East's magazine of new writing and art, throughout the year and help promote our sales? We're looking for someone to:
1. organise publicity for the calls for submissions to forthcoming issues of our magazine
2. organise publicity for our events including the launch of new issues and the occasional reading events we hold ourselves or contribute to
3. assist with the planning and running of our events
4. run our social media accounts – Facebook, Twitter and Instagram
5. draft and issue media releases as required, seek opportunities for publicity in the media, and maintain our database of media contacts
6. draft our twice-yearly newsletter to our database of supporters and friends
7. draft and recommend an annual public relations plan for Pushing Out the Boat
8. review, refresh and add to these activities.
9. attend and contribute to monthly team meetings.
You’ll need some understanding and experience of public relations, and you’ll probably get more out of the role if you’re interested in the arts. We’re a small friendly group based in and around Aberdeen and will help you get up to speed with our current activities and the way we do things.

Early Intervention is a neurodivergent safe space for neuro divergent children and their families. A non-judgmental environment where you can be your true authentic self.
Managed by volunteers we offer specialist support - Speech and Language therapy, Music Therapy, Pet therapy, and opportunities for children up to 9 years old to socialise with their neurokin whilst empowering them to embrace their identity, we also offer opportunities for semi structured play, arts and crafts and sensory messy play.
Looking for friendly volunteers to help us support families at sessions, no experience necessary but would especially love to hear from those with lived experience - neurodivergent adults and or people with a close connection to neurodiversity or ASN for example an autistic family member.
Although no experience is necessary, we would love to hear from any practicing/retired or student Speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, play therapists, teachers, or those with experience in social care and early years childcare.
Early Intervention is a volunteer-led organisation which has been providing services to neurodivergent children and their families since February 2022. This is an exciting time to get involved with us as we are seeking to develop the services we offer and to look at making the transition to becoming a Scottish Charity.
