Bon Accord Care recognises the invaluable contribution that the general public: friends and relatives can provide to the care and well-being of the people we support. We will encourage the involvement of individuals who wish to volunteer in a service in a voluntary capacity, whilst ensuring that the health, safety and well-being of volunteers, the people we support, staff members and visitors is maintained at all times.
We are looking for kind, caring individuals to support our front-line staff and services, making a positive difference to the day to day life experience of our service users. Current opportunities include, Befriending where we will link you with a service user, to chat to over a cuppa, reminisce about old Aberdeen, read a paper with, chat about your favourite TV soap, go for a local walk etc. Supporting with mealtimes and serving Teas & Coffees, helping in our Service User with laundry, and shopping, supporting group activities such as crafts and light exercise. In addition, we are seeking volunteers with some practical DIY experience to help keep our outdoor communal areas and car parks clean and tidy.

Young people attend the Rouken Glen Centre Monday to Friday during school term to boost their skills, increase their confidence and to allow them to successfully engage in education. Providing young people with healthy, hot meals is an essential part of this highly supportive learning environment
Ochiltree Community Hub - Table Server Volunteer: A warm welcome awaits you in our beautiful village coffee shop, and our friendly staff are always happy to help. A great opportunity to gain new skills, and boost confidence in a small community facility. Working direct with staff and other volunteers to serve customers. A great opportunity to make connections and learn new skills. Main duties: seating tables, taking orders, serving food, taking payments, cleaning tables.
Ochiltree Community Hub - Kitchen Support Volunteer: A warm welcome awaits you in our beautiful village coffee shop, and our friendly staff are always happy to help. Working along side the Café Manager and Supervisor to maintain food and kitchen supplies for serving customers. Role will give some training around basic kitchen skills. Duties will include washing and cleaning kitchen equipment, handling food, baking. A great opportunity to learn new skills and meet new people.
Ochiltree Community Hub Servery volunteer: A warm welcome awaits you in our beautiful village coffee shop, and our friendly staff are always happy to help. Volunteer will support the kitchen and table service areas. Learning new skills with the barista coffee machine, working with money creating customer bills, organising servery area, replenishing cake stock. A great opportunity to learn new skills and meet new people.
We hope that it might be possible to recruit new volunteers to join our team. The café is open six days a week from 1000 – 1430 and we are looking for volunteers who would be willing to sign up for a morning or afternoon shift either every week or every two weeks (or more often if anyone would like to!) We are flexible and it doesn’t need to be the same shift every week although some of our volunteers enjoy this routine.
We would be pleased to hear from you and to meet up at the Centre for a chat (socially distancing of course). Training doesn’t take long and if you join us you will very soon feel part of the team in serving this amazing community
Thurso Community Café is a non profit making Café run exclusively by volunteers and relies on donations of food. Volunteers are required to collect food donations from local businesses [usually in the evening] and drop off at the cafe for the catering staff to prepare. Do you have a car and are willing to help out with deliveries and moving items for the cafe?
Friendly volunteers to help front-of- house, waiting on tables and chatting to customers. You could help with drinks, tea/coffee making and generally keeping the tables tidy and clean after customers. This Cafe is open Wed and Fridays 10-2pm
Thurso Community Café is a non-profit making community Café reliant on donations of food and money to operate. The Café relies solely on volunteers to provide all services. They a re looking for General Kitchen assistants to help with food handling, washing dishes, preparation etc. Can you spare a few hours to assist in this valuable community Café ?
Royal British Legion Scotland (Forfar) open there doors as a Community Cafe every Monday 9.30 - 12.30 as a breakfast club, providing reasonably priced food and a space to chat with others. Volunteer involvement is paramount to providing this, if interested in getting involved get in touch.
