ReBOOT has been going strong as a social enterprise since 1997 – and offers a complete computer recycling service that has been massively reducing the environmental impact of waste electronics in Moray, by reusing and recycling donated technology.
Refurbished computers and other devices are also donated back to people or community groups who may struggle to afford a device or sold to the community at affordable prices in our shop. We are also now producing some nifty creative products with our plastics recycling, too.
Volunteers are at the core of our success and now, we are looking for 4-5 new people to join our team.
You don’t need a background in computers to volunteer all we ask is that you are able to give a minimum 4-hour time commitment during ReBOOT’s hours of operation. This can be any day or days, Monday to Thursday, 9.30- 3.30pm. Initially we’d like you to volunteer on a regular basis, so you can see what’s involved and find a role that’s right for you.
Anything that is not reused or rebuilt is recycled, so the type of activities you'd be undertaking whilst volunteering can include:
Testing hardware, refurbishing devices or sorting and stripping devices into recyclable components
Assist in the loading/unloading and packaging of pallet shipments in the warehouse
Help keep an asset log up to date
Joining the crew on the van to pick up donations
Driving the Van ( Over 25’s only )

This role (which can be a shared role), provides practical support to the shop manager in their absence.
You will:
*be trained to a high level, and be a key holder
*open and close the shop when necessary to support the manager
*support a team of volunteers to sort donations, keep the shop stocked up and to serve customers
*provide excellent customer service and making sure that everyone in the team is doing the same
*help train new volunteers, helping us to collect as much Gift Aid as possible and cashing up
Ideally we'd love you to commit to a regular shift each week, although the role is quite flexible it does bring responsibility so we need you to be reliable.

A Gordon Highlanders Museum Guide brings to life the extraordinary 200 year story of ‘The Finest Regiment in the World’. (Sir Winston Churchill 1900).
A Shop/reception Volunteer is the first point of contact for Visitors to the Museum whether they are interested in going round the exhibitions, meeting with a volunteer or member of staff or visiting the tea room. Stocking the shop shelves, dealing with enquiries, operating the till, cash handling and credit card sales are all part of this busy role.

Home-Start Aberdeen supports local families, who may be vulnerable or suffering from isolation, with emotional and practical support in their own homes.
Our charity shop, which raises valuable funds towards our work, opened in 2012. It is located in the heart of the city at 101 George Street, opposite John Lewis.
The shop is always keen to recruit volunteers who might wish to assist with a number of activities, including sorting and pricing stock, arranging window displays, liaising with customers and lending a hand at special promotional events.
No prior retail experience is required; our friendly shop staff team provide all volunteers with advice and guidance. Volunteering at the Home-Start Aberdeen shop is therefore an opportunity to learn new skills, meet new people and gain confidence. It is also a meaningful way to support Home-Start Aberdeen’s work with local families.

British Heart Foundation - Furniture & Electrical Store
If you like to keep active and stay in shape, volunteering in one of our local furniture store warehouses could be the answer you’re looking for.
We need helpful and active people to help keep our stock moving from the van to warehouse and onto the store and from store back to the van for delivery!
This role involves keeping active but it’s not just moving furniture. There are other opportunities to help our warehouse team such as booking in and checking over stock for sale, putting together our flat packed furniture and testing electrical items.
