Your role as a Clan EVENTS VOLUNTEER is essential in helping to generate the funds needed for us to provide our vital support services to people affected by a cancer diagnosis in your local community. You could be asked to get involved in a variety of activities, whether it’s manning a cheering point on one of our runs, walks or cycles, helping to welcome guests at our annual lunch or ball, or providing information at one of our open days. Typical activities include:
• Helping to prepare for an event – this might involve preparing information and signage, setting up routes for runs/walks/cycles, sorting displays and activities, moving chairs and tables, putting up gazebos etc.
• Providing a warm and friendly welcome to all attendees of Clan events, answering any questions and encouraging people to get involved in the event/activity
• Assisting at larger scale events such as the Clan Ball or Clan Lunch – this might involve manning the car park, directing attendees to the right location, providing information, running stalls, assisting with activities, selling tickets or accepting donations
• Working together with Clan staff to ensure the best possible experience for our events attendees/participants and signposting where appropriate
• Helping to raise awareness of Clan services
Role Commitments
• Working on an ad-hoc basis at events for either a few hours, part of the day or a whole day as required (time commitment would be discussed in advance of an event) and on occasions be flexible and available to help at short notice
We are recruiting a team of Charity Ambassadors to help develop engagement across each Region, to maximise opportunities to raise funds and increase support from the Community. You will be actively involved with The Charity on the ground and play a key role working alongside the Regional Community Fundraisers:
· Identifying various opportunities in your local area to raise awareness of The Charity & our wide range of Fundraising Campaigns. This could anything from contacting your local supermarket’s ‘Community Champion’ and organising an information stand and bucket collection or supporting a Supporter Group meet up in your area.
· Representing The Charity in your area, undertaking presentations & cheque collections at schools, local companies & community groups
· Helping us to recruit new fundraisers and supporting those who are already signed up for a campaign, in your area. For example, attending a local Twilight Walk or promoting The Big Bake to local companies.

As an Ambassador you will be a representative for the charity, and help spread awareness of the impact of the charity. You will use your influence and contacts with local small businesses and individuals in your local area to help build networks and fundraising partnerships.
You will get the opportunity to speak about the cause and the work of the charity; developing relationships with key supporters and individuals as part of the process. This is great experience for someone looking to build their confidence, get out their community and build skills in sales or marketing. You will also get to raise awareness of who we are and what we do.

Support muscle-wasting conditions which is a life-limiting condition affecting 110,000 children and adults in the UK. This is a flexible opportunity to fit with your schedule as and when you can support. You can do a few hours a month or give more time of support at set times. It is a great chance to meet new people in your community and build on your fundraising, management, organisation and communication skills.
As a Volunteer Collection box Co-ordinator you will support the Regional Development Manager in your region to raise awareness and funds for the charity by placing and managing collection boxes within businesses in your local community.

Volunteering for the Scouts is a great way to take part in new experiences, meet a whole load of friendly people and have fun. There is something for everyone whether you’d like to help out week-after-week or whenever-you-can, the Scouting Association will provide training, learning opportunities and cups of tea – every step of the way.
As a volunteer, working in teams, you might:
1. Welcome young people and families to sessions and events
2. Make sure everyone’s safe, supported, included and having fun
3. Help to plan and lead activities
4. Get involved with days out, camps and expeditions
5. Share and learn skills – from coding to cake decorating to canoeing
6. Celebrate young people’s achievements big and small
You don't need to be Bear Grylls to volunteer with Scouts - we need everyone to muck in and help support young people to learn #SkillsForLife.
You will have the chance to take part in some or all of the following:
Street Collections on 'flag' days / Help on stalls at local events / Take collection boxes to local businesses / Attending local events organised by Branches or Community Fundraiser and keeping track of what we sell on our stalls (including cuddly toys) / Count donations / Fundraisers are usually members of the local fundraising group.
Shetland Women's Aid are looking for women to join us in promoting the safety and wellbeing of women and children in Shetland who are affected by domestic abuse and gender-based violence. SWA is a registered charity funded by local and national grant aid to provide safety planning, counselling, refuge, advice and guidance about housing, finance and legal issues to women. There is also a children and young person's service focused on offering therapy and support to children and young people. The aim for Shetland Women's Aid is 'An equitable society in which women, children and young people are valued participants, able to determine their own future and are free from all forms of abuse.'
As a trustee you will be instrumental in helping us realise our vision and mission. Part of your role will be to ensure that our day to day operation fulfils our strategic vision.
If you decide to join Shetland Women's Aid, you can make a real difference to the women and children who experience domestic and sexual abuse.
Identify and place collecting boxes in suitable locations. Talk to shop owner etc at location about how the boxes will help Guide Dogs and what we do. Empty boxes every 3-6months and bank the income through the payin book provided, give a receipt and letter of thanks to the hosts. Keep a written record of the location of all boxes for your supervisor, dates they are emptied and the dates/amount banked. If boxes aren't collecting much then move to a better location (your supervisor may ask you to do this). Report any stolen boxes. Spot the potential for further fundraising amongst the box holders for community fundraising.
We are looking for someone to help with fundraising for our charity. Coming up with money making ideas, organising events, helping out at events.
Could be anything from 'Soup and Sweet' at local hall to 'quiz sheet' sales at local shops.
Any help, support, ideas welcome.
