As a Community Volunteer you can contribute as an individual or become part of one of our local groups of passionate volunteers, helping to grow our movement by motivating and inspiring people in your local community to support our work.
You can raise awareness of our work within your community in a number of ways, including:
•Helping us to share our story - give Mary’s Meals talks to local community organisations, schools, churches and faith groups to raise vital awareness and funds
•Host fundraising events in your local area such as coffee mornings, quizzes, and bucket collections
•Promote Mary’s Meals fundraising campaigns
•Distribute and display promotional materials and place collection tins in your local community
•Host community engagement events such as film screenings to share our message
•Help us to generate corporate support in your local area
•Support with local media opportunities
•Come together as a group with other local volunteers to support each other with this work

We have lots of opportunities for you to get involved with Balmedie Beach Wheelchairs. Our volunteers have a wide variety of roles.
You could be welcoming our wheelchair users and giving advice about the chairs, looking after equipment, keeping the Bunker tidy and decorated, clearing the boardwalk, fund raising, helping administrate the project and lots more.

Access Panels are groups of volunteers who work to improve access and inclusion for disabled people in their local community. Achieved by raising awareness and helping to change attitudes among the general public about the need for inclusive access.
Volunteers can be disabled people, those who represent disability organisations, or others with an interest in accessibility, or have experience they can bring to the group, which increases its capacity to work effectively. Have fun, meet new people, learn new skills and raise awareness of the issues facing people of all disabilities in their everyday lives.
Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland (Aberdeen City Services)
CHSS Speakers are trained volunteers that deliver inspiring talks, to raise awareness about the services across Scotland for people with chest, heart and stroke conditions. Our Speaker Volunteers engage audiences about the important work of CHSS, inspiring them to take action, as they speak with schools, universities, businesses, youth groups, religious places of worship, service organisations, and many more community groups face to face or virtually.
Your role will include:
*Alongside the fundraising team you will be supporting the team to find opportunities to share the work of CHSS with new audiences, raising the profile of CHSS.
*Delivering inspiring talks to a wide rand of community groups and corporate partners
*Keeping up to date with CHSS key messages, appeals, campaigns, fundraising and volunteering.
*Providing feedback on talks for our fundraising team.
