For the past 27 years, Radio North Angus have recruited young volunteers to present programmes and are currently seeking new applicants. The School's Out programmes, broadcast between 1600 and 1800, Monday to Friday, afford school students a unique opportunity on British Independent Local Commercial Radio to present their own music radio programmes. These programmes are designed specifically for a teenage audience, whilst giving presenters (DJs) the chance of personal development and to acquire media skills and to gain self-confidence.
Our transmitters broadcast across Angus in Arbroath (96.6FM), Carnoustie (107.5FM), Monifieth (105.9FM), Brechin, Forfar, Montrose (87.7FM) and Kirriemuir (107.9FM). We also broadcast on the Tayside DAB at certain times of the day, and we broadcast worldwide, with an app facility from our website - http://www.radionorthangus.co.uk.
The voluntary service is regarded favourably by prospective employers, college, University and can be included as community service for all levels of the Duke of Edinburgh, Saltire Awards etc with certain members proceeding to follow successful careers in broadcasting and journalism.
Training in music radio production, consisting of seven sessions will mainly be held between 4 and 6 pm once a week but other times can be arranged. Thereafter, there are practice sessions before presenters proceed to live or pre-recorded programming, depending on their availability. Programmes at times other than School's Out are also available. The commitment ifs to present a programme once a week for at least one year. Arrangements can be made to avoid conflict with study for examinations.

Dunnet Forestry Trust is a community Woodland in Caithness, they are looking for someone with technical skills to help them update/revamp their Facebook and website page. This is a voluntary role to help the organisation because there is a gap in skills in this particular field with the current volunteers and development officer.
As an Online Shop Volunteer you’ll be behind the scenes in our busy shop and learn all about selling donated gems through Oxfam’s unique Online Shop. You can get involved in everything from researching, describing, photographing, to posting. Best of all you’ll be raising vital funds to support people facing poverty around the world.

We need one reference and proof of ID for all volunteers and ask you to sign up to Oxfam's Code of Conduct. This role may require an enhanced DBS/PVG check, paid for by Oxfam.

Reporter responsibilities include:
- collecting and verifying newsworthy information
- assembling information into a stable story
- writing and delivering news stories with the readers' perspective in mind
- accompany the youth and senior teams during the tournament (matches, activities and events) and report
SSAFA, the armed forces charity that supports armed forces personnel, their families and veterans is currently setting up an exciting Serving Community Team in Kinloss and would welcome volunteers from the area.
You do not need a military background to volunteer; people from outside the serving community but who live in the local area are very welcomed to get in touch. Volunteers with the Kinloss Serving Community Team help look after all those working and living on and near Kinloss Barracks and they do this in a number of ways. As a Serving Community volunteer, you will be helping the serving community access financial, practical, and emotional support when they need it. Depending on the role you choose, you might be fundraising, managing finances, or helping us with marketing. SSAFA is seeking to refresh their offering to the serving community, to ensure they give tailored support to each site, that is in tune with the needs of today's serving personnel.
Currently, there are administration roles, (supporting meeting and events) roles to help distribute funding grants to those in need, welcoming, supporting and coordinating other volunteers, and volunteers needed to help plan and organise networking and community events.

Board Member Transition Town Forres
For over a decade, Transition Town Forres (TTF) has been helping our local community increase ways of sustainable living. By initiating projects such as a thriving community garden, as well as providing opportunities for reskilling and recycling, TTF also promotes ways we can all address the Climate Emergency, including our dependence on fossil fuels. TTF works to strengthen a localised economy and by doing so, makes our communities more self-reliant and people more connected.
Currently, a priority of TTF is to develop their board of trustees, and specifically, they are seeking someone to join the Board to serve for an initial one-year period who has a skill set and experience in finance/accountancy or business planning/management or grant-writing or fundraising.
This is an exciting time to join TTF as it embarks upon another important milestone, in securing an asset transfer of the building in which it operates on Bogton Road, Forres.
Applications are welcomed from individuals who understand the challenges faced by small nonprofits, want to make a difference in their local community, and have a commitment to the Transition Towns movement and what it seeks to achieve.
Trustee meetings take place 12 times a year and last approximately 1.5 hours. If unable to commit to being a board member, short-term (3-6 months) pro bono arrangements are welcomed, as well.

The Elgin Sports Community Trust is literally a game-changer. This volunteer led community project has broken ground to a create a new all-weather sports facility for Moray. The project, now entering a final exciting stage, is looking for outgoing volunteers with professional experience to help develop and write funding bids that will support specific elements of the build.
Are you a resourceful, take-the-initiative sort of person that possesses marketing and writing skills? Could you help identify and research prospective funding sources and help to write persuasive compelling bids? Could you pen awesome case studies or reports and maybe even share some of our news on social media?
The Elgin Sports Community Trust has built an accessible all-weather, full-size facility, that is being used for a multitude of sports and is inclusive for all members of the community. Your time and skill will help this facility build office space, changing facilities and viewing galleries and become a place where people can play and meet all year – even walk, train, coach, the sporting options (and the health benefits to our community) are endless!
This volunteering commitment would last between 3 to 6 months or longer if you are the sort of person who would be prepared to join the board.

The Credit Union has a long history of serving the local community. Formerly the Forres Area Credit Union until 2020, it was set up in 1995 as a response to high unemployment in the area when a nearby Fabrication Yard closed. Today, the main office of the ‘Savings & Loans Co-operative’ is located at 53 High Street Forres, and there are now ‘satellite’ collection points in other places in Moray as this social enterprise develops.
