About us
The RNLI’s Lifeboat Station in Anstruther is home to Kingdom of Fife, a Mersey class, all-weather Lifeboat and Akira, a D class, inshore Lifeboat. We are looking to recruit 2 new volunteers in the role of Tractor driver with availability that would allow them to respond to service calls 7 days a week but specifically between daytime working hours.
We are looking for interested parties to help the community in providing essential lifesaving work to prevent the loss of life at sea. The station has an excellent opportunity for members of the local community to become part of the team, learn new skills that will enhance your CV and gain the satisfaction of playing your part in the community in which we serve.

Being a lifeboat shore crew member means you’re available to respond to emergencies 24 hours a day, seven days a week, where practically possible, and committing to an extensive RNLI training program which will turn you into a lifeboat shore crew member is all part of the deal!

Across the UK, our 270 local groups play a vital part in supporting people affected by MS. They provide sense of belonging, unity and friendship. And they deliver services and support for their local MS community.
We are looking to recruit an Activities Volunteer for the Shetland Group. As our local group Activities Volunteer you’ll help us to set up activities in the area. Whether you’re serving refreshments, talking to people, registering attendees or collecting payments, you’ll be making sure everyone feel welcome.
In this role you’ll be able to develop your organisation, communication and team working skills. Most importantly you’ll be supporting your local group to run activities that bring friendship and fun to your local MS Community.
About you
You’ll have an interest in the MS Society and the work that we do, as well as the enthusiasm to represent both us and our values locally. You will understand the needs of people affected by MS in your area and be sympathetic to the needs and motivations of volunteers. You’ll be able to apply disability, equality and inclusion practices and understand and apply our risk management system. Ideally you’ll understand the local area and organisations that provide local services.
You will be reliable and easy to contact and you need to live in or near the area the group to carry out this role.
Time Commitment
We estimate this role will need up to two hours a week. Our roles are flexible and aim to fit around you. Time commitments for this role may vary depending on your activities. This is an ongoing role.
Apply
1. Read through the role description carefully
2. Please apply online
The MS Society is committed to promoting diversity. We can only offer roles to over 18s.
Put your skills to use, learn new ones and play an active role in your local community.
Volunteering is easier than you think, with full support and training, you can volunteer on a flexible basis. Give young people the skills to succeed in life and discover how being part of the Scouting family can be rewarding for you as it is to them.
North Angus & District Scouts require a wide range of volunteer roles - from casual helpers to leaders, trainers, trustees and more – we have a role for everyone. We also offer flexible volunteering roles too, so we can fit around you and the time that you want to give to Scouting.
We have 8 groups in North Angus, but 2 are more desperate for help. These are our Letham and Edzell Groups.
What do volunteers do?
Week by week, our volunteers empower thousands of young people to learn new skills, make new friends and stand on their own two feet. They’re our everyday heroes. They shape young people’s lives for the better, and find out a whole lot about themselves in the process, too.
Today, there are nearly 60,000 young people on waiting lists to join us in the UK. We’re more relevant and more needed than ever, but it’s not always easy to keep up with the demand.
That’s where you come in
You don’t need to be Bear Grylls to join us. You don’t need to have been a Scout when you were younger. You don’t even need to know how to put up a tent. Our door is open to people of all ages, genders, races and backgrounds, and we’re only able to change lives because people like you lend a hand. We’re talking about tea makers, tidy-uppers and skill sharers. We’re talking about minibus drivers and first aiders. We’re talking about students who want to boost their CV, and parents who volunteer so they can spend more time together as a family.
Whatever your skillset, lend a hand for as little or as much time as you can spare, and we promise you’ll get more out than you put in. Because whether you’re helping a leader to run an activity in the
local town hall, organising a night away, or buttering 120 slices of bread a group of very hungry eleven-year-olds - no two Scout meetings are the same. The difference you make, though, is always great.
We provide the training.
All of our adult volunteers receive full induction and ongoing training and support. Our training has been recognised with a National Training Award by UK Skills and over 90% of our volunteers believe that the skills and experiences they have gained through Scouting have been of relevance to their working or personal lives.
You show up, get stuck in, and make memories for life.
As long as you're over 18, you can help out as an adult volunteer in Scouting. There is no upper age limit for adult volunteers.
Sounds fun? Worthwhile? It is.

Being a Community Facilitator is all about delivering a variety of lifesaving first aid skills in community engagement workshops and projects, within local communities, and primary and secondary schools. An example of events you could be delivering a first aid talk and demo to, are primary and secondary schools, small university groups, local community groups, charities, summer fairs, shopping centres. Some of the skills you could be teaching include how to provide CPR and apply a defib, different bandages and how to use them, and basic information on various health conditions. Not only that but all the training needed, is provided by us at no cost to you!

Steps to Health is a programme designed to reduce inactivity levels and to increase the number of people walking. It has particular focus on supporting active lifestyles among inactive adults and those with long term conditions. Short health walks are free to attend and are led across the city.
We are seeking friendly individuals to help us to support various walking groups around Dundee. You can go through training to become a certified Walk Leader, or simply come along as often as you can manage to help chat to folk and make the tea and coffee at the end – it’s up to you. Various opportunities are available at different groups around the city. Here is a link to more information - https://www.leisureandculturedundee.com/leisure/health-and-wellbeing/steps-to-health
Volunteers must go through LACD’s own induction process and are fully supported with any training needs.
This is an opportunity to get involved in all aspects of stable work - tacking, grooming, leading horses in the school or side walking with riders. Some riders need more assistance than others depending on their ability. It would be helpful if you have an outgoing personality and are able to adapt quickly to different situations. This is a wonderful rewarding opportunity for someone to help us continue to provide the high level of service for our clients. Volunteers will be invited for a short tour of the centre followed by a half-day induction the next week. (OWN TRANSPORT PREFERRED DUE TO DISTANCE FROM THE CENTRE TO NEAREST BUS STOP.)
