Volunteers will gain insight to the role of the Sports Advisor and the task undertaken to provide excellent customer service in a busy sports environment. Increase of health and safety including life guarding. Work experience will help with any future recruitment opportunities with the sports and leisure industry.
ANGUSalive has a an ever growing membership base across our 7 facilities. The membership offering consists of world wide fitness classes created by Les Mills, Kettlebells, Yoga, aqua and much more. Access to swimming, health suites and racket sports our membership has everything. You would work with our Adult & Memberships Lead into reviewing and monitoring our membership sales, process and assisting on reporting weekly figures along with helping create new promotions.
Suggested activities:
• Monitor membership sales over all 7 sites via our membership tracker
• Download weekly membership reports and update spreadsheet
• Creation of membership promotions
• Help create social media content to promote memberships and membership campaigns
• Assist with membership sales and facility tours

You will work alongside the Health & Wellbeing Co-ordinator, Health & Wellbeing Advisors, specialist exercise instructors, health walk leaders and local stakeholders including Health Care Professionals (HCP).
Suggested activities:
• Provide support for the Health & Wellbeing Advisors, specialist exercise instructors and HCPs during physical activity sessions e.g., circuit classes, seated exercise, strength & balance, gym sessions, aqua aerobics, and health walks
• Provide meaningful interaction with class participants encouraging and enabling them to do the exercises prescribed to them in a safe manner
• Help participants with equipment as required e.g., setting up weight machines in the gym
• Engage with participants following sessions where tea/coffee is provided (where applicable)

You would work with one of our experienced group fitness instructors to increase your knowledge in group fitness.

• Weekly monitoring of the group fitness programme
• Running reports on group fitness programme to look at number of attendees
• Updating weekly monitoring sheets and highlighting classes which may require support in promotion
• Creativity in creating engaging and exciting posts for social media channels to aid class promotion
• Speaking to customers and providing class passes if required

• Welcome, participants into the class; finding out if they have any injuries and if they have previous experience of the class
• Assist the Group Fitness Instructor in setting up the area they are using ( this may involve moving equipment or setting up activities throughout the class)
• Help participants with equipment as required e.g., setting up benches, lifting weights etc)
• Engage with participants following sessions and gather feedback from the class

ANGUSalive Sport & Leisure team support the development of new sport and play programme for children with and without disabilities ages 2 to 5 and 6 to 12years looking at motor, social, emotional and learning skills, sports readiness and acceptance.
As a volunteer within the team t=you will develop relationships with colleagues within ANGUSalive and partners across the Angus community and the wider sector to develop the sports and play programme.

Purpose: The Community sport hub network aims to develop collaboration between local sports clubs and partners to tackle health and social inequalities through sport. This role will support the development of a broader, deeper understanding of the local communities for the respective community sport hub across Angus, informing and positively contribute to the planning + outcomes that the community sport hub set out to achieve. You will work alongside the CSH coordinator, CSH members and local community stakeholders including ANGUSalive, Active Schools, sports clubs and Third-sector partners where required.
Suggested activities:
• Attend community sport hub meetings in your area
• Development of a community map for the Community Sport Hub
• Sourcing and utilising up to date information around health and social inequalities within the local community
• Complete an audit of sports facilities within the local community
• Integrate the public transport / safe cycling routes for each community into a map
• Present a comprehensive overview of the community map to the community sport hub partners
