• Carry out meaningful activities 1:1 with patients, such as painting, pampering, games, music, looking at old photos, quizzes etc
• Taking part in socialising group activities such as arts & crafts, movies and listening to music
• Support the set up and tidy up of activities e.g. Afternoon Teas and crafts
• Physical activities e.g. accompanying patients for walks with the consent of staff.
• Support staff with collecting patients from the wards and accompanying them to the on-site Meaningful Activity Centre
• To bring to the attention any concerns about patients to a member of staff

As a Marie Curie Speaker, you will be actively finding local opportunities to talk about Marie Curie and rallying others to support their mission, while giving it your own personal touch. This is a flexible role which can fit around you. A Marie Curie Speaker role includes the following tasks:
Inspire
-Inspire others to support Marie Curie, in any way they can
-Be familiar with Marie Curie and our services.
-Use resources to deliver engaging and motivational talks, with a “you can help us by…” message
Deliver Talks
-Proactively find and approach local groups and organisations to host a talk.
-Represent Marie Curie at local events and cheque presentations – saying thank you!
-Keep your Community Fundraiser informed with planned talks or approaches made.
-Participate in training and provide feedback on the Speaker programme development.
Marie Curie are looking for volunteers to become members of their local fundraising groups across the UK. Their groups are dedicated to raising funds so that Marie Curie can continue to care for people with terminal illnesses in their own homes and in Marie Curie hospices. Along with other group members, you will organise collections and fundraising events and encourage support for Marie Curie in your local community. Group members can also choose to get involved in further group roles such as Chair Secretary and Treasurer if interested.
Your role will include some of, amongst other tasks, the following:
-Help to organise collections, events and other fundraising activities
-Advertising events and encouraging fundraising in the area
-Help to promote the work of the charity and encourage support from the local community
-Regularly attend and participate in group meetings
-Complete agreed action points following meetings
Volunteers are matched up on a one-to-one basis with a vulnerable adult. The matches meet regularly either weekly or fortnightly for a few hours at a time. The aim is to engage in purposeful activities within the community which will help to reduce social isolation and feelings of loneliness. It is also about continuing to support the adult to engage in their own community and have positive social connections.
Being a Collection Can Volunteer is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the success of a leading health charity and make a real difference to the people we support. As a CHSS Collecting Can Volunteer, you will play a key role in sourcing new collecting can sites, helping to raise awareness and vital funds to ensure Chest Heart and Stroke Scotland continues to support people who are living with effects of stroke, chest and heart conditions in Scotland.
Your role will include:
• Placing CHSS charity collection cans in shops, local businesses, and community venues.
• Regularly revisiting the sites where you have placed the collecting can, emptying the can and supporting the site holder with any queries or concerns.
• Counting, banking and recording the income from your collecting cans
