Dundee City Council, Events Team, City Development
Dundee City Council's Volunteer Hub is run by both the Resilience and Events Teams. We are currently looking to recruit a large number of volunteers for public events or during times of emergency. The hub allows you to register as a Dundee City Council volunteer and offer your support in times of emergency and for events run by Dundee City Council.
Event volunteering roles are suited to people who enjoy working outdoors and are confident speaking to the public. You will be supported by a wider event team, who will carry out training and briefings ahead of the event. A supervisor will be on hand to coordinate your training, breaks, and refreshments, along with answering any questions you may have on the day.
We are currently looking for people to volunteer their time in helping us provide critical support in times of emergency and major incidents. The specific roles being filled may vary due to the nature of the incident, however, as a volunteer, you would likely be asked to:
Provide help to people in need of temporary shelter and other supports
Provide support to people stuck on roads
Act as a steward during civic and cultural events.
To sign up for these unique and important tasks please register for a volunteer account via Dundee City Council's Volunteer Hub - https://dundeecityvolunteers.co.uk/index-classic.
Once you have registered for a volunteer account you will be able to view details of any requests for support when emergency incidents occur or events are planned. Volunteering opportunities will also be automatically texted or emailed to you when they arise, and you can choose whether you are able to support them or not. You do not need to accept every time, your details will stay registered on the hub until you unsubscribe.
Our Buckie lifeboat crew couldn’t launch without a strong fundraising crew in support. You could save lives at sea by helping organise and run fundraising activities in the area. Could you spare a couple of hours to help at a store collection?
As part of our fundraising crew you will be supporting the lifesaving work of the volunteer lifeboat crew.
The RNLI has a wide network of local fundraising teams/groups organising a broad range of events and activities each year raising vital life-saving funds. The teams/groups are supported by a Community Manager.
The range and frequency of the events is determined by the team members themselves and the amount of time volunteered is up to the individual.
We are keen to welcome new people with new ideas and new skills into our local team so that we can develop our programme of fundraising activities and events in new, creative and innovative ways and contribute to saving more lives at sea.
Together we save lives at sea.
The impact you will make
You will enable volunteer RNLI lifeboat crews to save lives at sea by carrying out and supporting vital fundraising activity in your local community.
