We can talk about all sorts, from current interests, hobbies, personal and professional goals, top tier biscuits, time travel – the list is endless! The role of a Friendship Caller Volunteer is to provide friendship, companionship and a listening ear to people who are 50 and over and would benefit from a weekly chat. We are looking for volunteers who can volunteer 2-3 hours of their time on the same day each week.

We need an I.T. Coordinator to become the branch expert on the SSAFA Client Management system. Could you be a friendly face to help our volunteers to make the most of the internet-based systems we use in our work with clients? A key aspect to this role will be supporting volunteers remotely by phone or on theTeams app. The role would suit someone looking to offer a regular commitment to the branch, but days and times would vary to suit you. Excellent support and relevant training is provided to all volunteers including: • On-line training modules to complete at home, so you are up to date on how to keep clients, their families safe and personal information safe. • Webinar training for the SSAFA Client Management system • Support from your local branch secretary. • Support from the relevant teams at Central Office. • Reimbursement of out-of-pocket expenses A great opportunity to help. We are looking for people who would go on a rota to collect and take home members from the Pensioners Club at Inchgarth Community Centre on Monday afternoons. The Pensioners Club is held every Monday from 1-3pm, while the driver would need to be at Inchgarth at 12.15pm to get the bus and start the round. The role is only driving, there will be an escort on the bus to support and manage every needs of our members. The driver is welcome to stay in the centre during the Club, and we'll be happy to help you with coffee and a slice of cake! At the end of the club, the driver would take home our members. To be able to drive you would just need a D1 on your drivers license. The Pensioners Club makes a huge difference in the lives of our members. All volunteers are greatly appreciated and provided with excellent support.
