Are you passionate about the support we offer to autistic and neurodiverse children, young people, adults and their families? Would you like to be part of our team and help raise awareness of our charity, the work we do and be a key member of our events and volunteer team, mainly onboard Binky the Sensory Bus? You will be part of our volunteer team who bring a variety of different skill sets and experience to A-ND, essential in our ability to deliver key support and services throughout north Scotland. You will be part of our unique and exciting new Binky the Sensory Bus Project, who will be traveling throughout Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire, providing a much needed sensory environment and safe space for children and young people. This project is a first of its kind in this area and indeed, in Scotland. The volunteer role includes: • Helping present our sensory bus and its facilities at social and promotional events • Talking to the public and raising awareness about the services that we offer at Autism and Neurodiversity North Scotland • Have an awareness of health and safety within Binky the Sensory Bus and ensure all risk assessments in place are followed. • Become familiar with A-ND health, safety, and fire regulations, ensuring they are implemented and followed in line with National Care Standards and SSSC Code of Practice. • Ensure that matters concerning individual children, young people and their families are kept strictly confidential. • Report any areas of concern or risk to the Team Leader, Services Manager or where appropriate, Chief Executive Officer, in line with out Safeguarding, Adult and Child Protection Procedures. • To maintain confidentiality for the A-ND and its staff A fantastic opportunity to help and make a real difference. Volunteers are needed to help in our community garden. We have gardening tasks for all abilities,with days and hours to suit volunteers. Duties may vary depending on the time of year, but can include digging, weeding, watering, potting and propagation of seeds and veg. We are a very friendly team who are always ready to welcome new volunteers. Help and support will always be offered.

Provide support to NHS hearing aid users at our hearing aid maintenance clinics, helping with basic maintenance and support of hearing aids. As a hearing aid support volunteer, you will: • undertake basic maintenance on hearing aids, cleaning or changing tubing and replacing batteries • offer practical support to optimise hearing aids • signpost other agencies that may be beneficial to the service user • monitor the number of visits to drop-in service and feedback to the Project Co-ordinator • Meet with other RNID volunteers and staff to discuss the project and suggest any improvements. Full training will be provided by NHS Shetland audiology dept, with ongoing support provided by locally based project co-ordinator. As an RNID volunteer, you will: • make a real difference to the people you support • help us run this important service • receive training and learn new skills • meet people in different situations • raise awareness of deafness in the community • have reasonable, out-of-pocket and pre-approved travel expenses repaid.

As a community volunteer, you will: • reach out to community groups, other charities, etc. to offer informative presentations or attend meetings to share insight into deafness, hearing loss and tinnitus • deliver talks, presentations online and face-to-face (depending on practicality) • set up RNID Information stands at various locations, including libraries, community centres and hospitals within your local area • ensure leaflets and equipment arrive at the venue in time, and pack up at the end of the event • promote the work of RNID and associated local services • respond to questions and enquiries from visitors and assist as appropriate • record any enquires that are out of your knowledge base and follow up accordingly • monitor the number of enquiries at each event and feedback in a timely manner • be proactive in sourcing venues for information stands. Are you passionate about digital communications and creating outreach content for an online community? If so, we are looking for someone to join our team and work alongside us to develop digital communications strategies and content to empower our community and promote our existing and future projects. We are an arts-based media project supporting women and people from marginal communities to showcase their work and connect with arts focused opportunities across Scotland. Our placement opportunity will provide you with an opportunity to develop digital content to support connecting with our existing community and create growth opportunities to reach out to new members. The role includes: • Creating digital communication strategies to connect with people inclusive and supportive of their community and individual needs. • Creation of community focused digital content for social media platforms. • Supporting the development and implementation of community connection and growth strategy. • Analysis of engagement data and supporting the creation of solutions to increase community connections. • Working alongside the Zya Community team to support sharing of existing projects via digital communication. The commitment is negotiable depending on availability however there is a minimum of 4 hours a week required. We can support with connecting the role with academic outcomes and have flexibility around role duties. Volunteer drivers to lead the Trishaw [rickshaw] in and around Wick. This vehicles enables disabled or poor mobility people to get out and about for recreational purposes. The vehicle is pedal power and electric back up. volunteers receive full training and support.

Guide Dogs are looking for a Fundraiser to assist the local fundraising team in promoting and taking part in a variety of activities to raise money for Guide Dogs. In this role you will have the chance to take part in activities such as street collections on ‘flag’ days, helping on stalls at local events to fundraiser and keeping track of what we sell (including the cuddly toys), taking collection boxes to local businesses and counting donations.

We are looking for volunteers who are able to speak in public about the reality of living with sight loss, and about our organisation’s work to support people who do. We are particularly keen to hear from people with lived experience of sight loss, although this is not a requirement. Whatever you do, you will be joining a dynamic team that will welcome and support volunteers to have a positive and rewarding experience.

We are looking for volunteer videographers who have their own equipment and are able to produce film to a professional standard. You will capture a range of videos ranging from colleagues and people with sight loss who use our services to major conferences and fundraising events. Your work can then be shared by the organisation, for example on social media, our website, or training resources. Whatever you do, you will be joining a dynamic team that will welcome and support volunteers to have a positive and rewarding experience.
