We are looking for people who would go on a rota to collect and take home members from the Pensioners Club at Inchgarth Community Centre on Monday afternoons. The Pensioners Club is held every Monday from 1-3pm, while the driver would need to be at Inchgarth at 12.15pm to get the bus and start the round. The role is only driving, there will be an escort on the bus to support and manage every needs of our members. The driver is welcome to stay in the centre during the Club, and we'll be happy to help you with coffee and a slice of cake! At the end of the club, the driver would take home our members. To be able to drive you would just need a D1 on your drivers license. The Pensioners Club makes a huge difference in the lives of our members. Volunteer Secretary/Administrator we need you, with you inspiration and motivation to serve as a board member on the Management Board of HALLA (Harlaw Area Lifelong Learning Association). We are a Board of people who run daytime and evening classes at Kaimhill Learning Centre, (Garthdee). We have a FB page ( @HALLACommunity) where you can see some of our activities and tutored classes. We meet once a month to discuss new opportunities and management issues, to find new ways of how-to bring people of all ages of the community into the centre. A volunteer should be passionate, enthusiastic and have a keen interest in community matters. A secretary / administrator volunteer requires specific skills such office procedure, basic accounting and IT skills (excel, word) but enthusiasm and interest in the community are equally important. This is an amazing opportunity to discover your “hidden talents” !!! You need to attend our monthly Board meetings for taking notes, minutes and prepare all the documentation and email the Board members. HALLA has a computer in the centre. Volunteers required to drive a 17-seater minibus for an over 50s walking group based at Kaimhill Learning Centre, Pitmedden Terrace, Aberdeen AB10 7HR. Drivers should be over 25 and under 70 and have category D1 on their driving licence. We are a friendly group who walk on Thursdays leaving the centre at 9.30am and usually return around mid afternoon. We normally walk between 5 and 7 miles and most drivers in the past have been happy to walk with the group but this is not a requirement! Prospective volunteers will be given support to familiarise themselves with the vehicle and are welcome to come along on a walk to see what is involved. A fantastic opportunity to help. Inchgarth Community Centre provide a fantastic programme of activities for the community with the tremendous help of volunteers. Inchgarth has over 170 sessions of activity per week-serving every age group and section of the community. We have a great opportunity for people to help as Dishwasher Volunteers at the community centre. As a big and vibrant community centre, we offer a large range of activities for all ages and welcome a range of charities at the community centre. This is an opportunity to directly inform and collaborate with agencies working to reduce suicide in Aberdeen. Community Planning Aberdeen* is working to improve mental wellbeing and has a project focused on raising awareness of how we can all make a difference to reducing suicide. Improving mental wellbeing is a priority within the North, South and Central Locality plans and our communities through their Plans have identified ideas that could help reduce suicide and improve mental wellbeing. We now need COMMUNITY CONNECTORS to help make sure the development of this project and the ideas for improvement continue to be informed by and are linked back to our communities. As a Community Connector you will be the “connection” between the reducing suicide project and your community. You will be supported to provide updates to your Locality Engagement Group (LEG) or Priority Neighbourhood Partnership (PNP) meeting.
