Description

Trust in Fife is a homeless charity and voluntary organisation which provides a range of services to homeless people throughout Fife. They are a Scottish registered charity, a company limited by guarantee, and their activities are regulated by the Care Inspectorate.

They are looking for people who have an interest in their work to join their voluntary Board of Directors. They are looking for individuals who have lived experience of homelessness and landlords or letting agents who work in the private rented sector, who can help them to shape their services to better support people in that situation and have a genuine desire to be involved.

Organisation aims and objectives

Trust In Fife is a Fife-wide homeless organisation running two hostels which accommodate single people. One of these projects offers a tenancy share option assisting homeless/potentially homeless people to meet, learn about, and be supported to move into a shared private tenancy. Fife Private Rental Solutions is Fife’s private rented sector advice hub (previously Fife Keyfund) with the team assisting tenants and landlords in Fife with all their private sector housing needs.

Experience required: A background in the private rented sector, work in a letting agency or are a private landlord.

How can you have fun, gain coinfidence and help others at the same time? By becoming a lunch cook with Express Group Fife! Express Group Fife is a mental health charity, operating in Fife for almost 50 years. They provide social group activities and engage with people over 18 experiencing poor mental health. They are looking for Cooks who can prepare simple cooked lunches for groups between 5 and 15 people. Groups meet once or twice a week but there is no need to commit to both days. Groups run from 9:30 am to 1:00 pm with lunch served at 12 noon; the cook can start at a suitable time to achieve this, finishing when clearing up has finished. Each venue has a good size and well-equipped kitchen. Lunch provided, travel expenses reimbursed, free parking at all venues. A Volunteer from Central Fife said - I really enjoyed volunteering here over past 10 months, it will be sad to leave, it's been a very meaningful experience, and I have learnt a lot.

Social Group Assistant

How can you have fun, gain confidence and help others at the same time? By becoming a social group assistant with Express Group Fife! Express Group Fife is a mental health charity, operating in Fife for almost 50 years. They provide social group activities and engage with people over 18 experiencing poor mental health. They are looking for a Social Group Assistants for their groups listed below. Activities involved: setting up the hall (tables and chairs, but not at every location), socialising with service users, serving tea/coffee, taking part/assisting in activities (e.g. board games, bingo, crafts). There is always a Group Coordinator facilitating the group and very often also a Case Worker who can work individually with service users when needed. Time: 9:30 am to 1:00 pm, lunch provided, travel expenses reimbursed, free parking at all venues. A Volunteer from Central Fife said - I really enjoyed volunteering here over past 10 months, it will be sad to leave, it's been a very meaningful experience, and I have learnt a lot.

Committee Member
  • ENeRGI (East Neuk Recovery Group Initiative)
ENeRGI SCIO is a mental health charity based in the East Neuk of Fife. Volunteers are needed to join its committee. You will be responsible for governing the charity, helping to shape policy and its vision for the future. ENeRGI is a SCIO registered charity established since 1995. Committee Members are asked to attend Committee Meetings, which take place once every two months, and usually last 1 hour to 90 minutes, and the ENeRGI Annual General Meetings, usually held in December. Committee roles available or you can remain as an ordinary trustee with just attendance and input expected. This is an opportunity to gain new skills and contribute to a great community project. Interested parties over the age of 16 are welcome to apply.
