The Swing Cafe is located within Colinton Parish Church, Dell Road, Colinton, Edinburgh, and is run by volunteers whose tasks vary from serving our customers, clearing tables, preparing food and washing up/operating the dishwasher. Our volunteers work two to six hours on a weekly or fornightly rota. The choice is yours. The Swing Cafe opened in 1999, with the aim or providing a welcoming space for Colinton folk and beyond. The name originated from a poem by Robert Louis Stevenson.
The Swing Cafe is run by volunteers to provide a not-for-profit service to the community of Colinton and further afield. It is in a beautiful setting and proud to welcome everybody. We welcome all ages, and it is also an opportunity to help young people to gain experience should they have an interest in going into the hospitality sector.
