The Risk Factory is a purpose built centre set up like a film set of everyday situations where visitors can experience risk in a safe environment covering topics such as fire, home and road safety. Our volunteer Safety / Tour Guides escort small groups round the lifelike scenarios delivering safety messages and running simple activities that enable them to think about dangers and actions to reduce and / or avoid risk.
To provide a high quality, interactive community safety education resource for all people living in and visiting the Lothians. In particular to: improve community safety; increase community involvement; change attitudes; modify behaviour; reduce health risks

Experience required: Good communication skills; reliable, responsible and trustworthy; and willing to learn about safety / everyday life skills.

A small car park and free on-street parking is available and there are various LRT buses to the area. The closest bus stop wold be Slateford Station and The Risk Factory is a short 5 minute walk from there.

Expenses details: Travel expenses should be claimed on an expenses claim form on a monthly basis. Lunch will be provided if volunteering to do two sessions in a single day.
