DEBRA is a national charity and patient support organisation for people living with the rare, extremely painful, genetic skin blistering condition, Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) also known as ‘Butterfly Skin’. EB causes the skin to become very fragile and tear or blister at the slightest touch. With your help we can find treatments and cure(s) for EB. Volunteering in a DEBRA shop can teach you new skills as well as meeting new people and gaining experience in retail. The role involves: - Operating a till to take cash and card payments - Engaging with customers on the shop floor - Replenishing stock on the shop floor - Recording donor details for gift aid - Creating eye catching displays

We’ve been invited to take part in a special opportunity with Scotmid/Semi-Chem stores, who are supporting Alzheimer Scotland as their Charity of the Year. This means we can have a presence in local stores to help raise awareness and fundraise for people living with dementia – and we’d love your help!   What’s Involved: Stores are open 7 days a week from 6am/7am until 10pm, so you can choose dates and times that suit you. You can help by collecting donations and chatting to shoppers to raise awareness. You can volunteer for just one or two hours, or longer if you wish – it’s completely flexible. We’ll provide t-shirts, and you won’t need to handle any money – the Scotmid store team will take care of counting donations after your session. When: Opportunities are available anytime from now through until August 2026. This is a lovely way to get involved, and fundraise for a cause close to many of us. Every day of your life matters – from the first to the last. That's why the right care at the end of your life is so important. With other group members from your local area, you will organise fundraising events, collections and bring your community together in supporting Marie Curie. The group meets approximately every 6 weeks to organise 2-4 events per year. Due to Covid-19 at present all volunteer fundraising is being carried out virtually.

Can you help with our Collection Tins and Daffodil Boxes? Distribute and collect our Marie Curie tins or daffodil boxes in your local community - in shops, cafés, pubs, sports and social clubs, pharmacies and other venues. Your impact truly matters. In 2024–2025, our Fundraising Groups raised £2.3 million for Marie Curie, and you could be part of what happens next.
