The 9th Dunipace Scout Group is a successful group trying to make things better for any youngster between the ages of 5 and 18 who wishes to join in! We are currently looking to expand and offer more opportunities to young people in the area, and we need more leaders and supporters to do so!
Volunteering with Scouts is a great way to take part in new experiences, meet a lots of friendly people and have fun. The role involves supporting children in various sections (Squirrels/Beavers/Cubs/Scouts/Explorers) during weekly meetings, trips and camps. This can involve:

The Scouting Organisation aims to provide programmes of activities, leading directly to the development of the children. At the 9th Dunipace Group we have 4 sections covering ages 5 to 18. The group is very active, with weekly activity nights, educational visits and trips. We are a full programme of camping and outdoor pursuits programme. The Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme is run for all children between 16 and 18 years old.

Volunteer timings are flexible and can be arranged to suit the volunteer. We have different groups meeting on different evenings during term time and we sometimes have weekend activities or trips away. We do ask that volunteers commit to approximately two hours a week volunteering.

Experience required: Anyone who likes engaging with young people and has a friendly disposition! Any experience of the Scout organisation is beneficial but not necessary - we simply ask for a commitment to providing an enjoyable experience to our members!
