Oor Wee Cafe is an initiative established in 2018 to address food insecurity and social isolation issues throughout the Kelty Area. The Community Cafe works as a "hub" for the local community, attended by 50 participants every week. The cafe has a positive and welcoming atmosphere, providing a place for people to meet and socialise reducing social isolation and community disconnection and it is at the heart of the local community run by people from the local community.
Oor Wee Café and Pantry are looking for a community cook. The role involves purchasing and preparing two meals for the community café which is open every Tuesday. The cook will be part of a small team of volunteers preparing soup and stovies to be served in the community café as well as preparing breakfast for the team of volunteers. Tidying and cleaning the kitchen are also part of the role
A 'donations only' cafe open to the local community. The cafe will run every Tuesday from 12-2pm but preparation will start at 10am-12 and then clean up will be 2pm.

Experience required: Positive attitude, good working in a team, experience of cooking for large amounts of people
Travel details: Kelty Community centre which is on the local bus route

Expenses details: 45p/mile or equivalent of £5 bus pass (Fife day-rider). Receipts must be submitted monthly.
