Can you help with our Collection Tins and Daffodil Boxes?

Distribute and collect our Marie Curie tins or daffodil boxes in your local community - in shops, cafés, pubs, sports and social clubs, pharmacies and other venues.

Your impact truly matters. In 2024–2025, our Fundraising Groups raised £2.3 million for Marie Curie, and you could be part of what happens next. Even better, from a recent survey (Feb 2026) 96% of our fundraising volunteers would recommend volunteering to a friend

Availability: 2 hours per month
Time: Flexible to suit your schedule
Locations: St Andrews
Criteria: Aged 18 or over

What you'll do:
• Distribute and collect donation tins/boxes
• Count and bank donations securely
• Monitor and empty donation boxes regularly
• Identify new venues

Organisation aims and objectives

Marie Curie is the UK’s leading end-of-life charity. We are the largest non-NHS provider of end-of-life care in the UK, the only provider across all 4 nations, delivering community nursing and hospice care across the country, while providing information and support on all aspects of dying, death, and bereavement.  Our leading research pushes the boundaries of what we know about good end-of-life, and our campaigns fight for a world where everyone gets to have the best possible quality of life while living with an illness they’re likely to die from. The care and support we provide is highly valued by the people we care for and their loved ones, but at present we are only reaching around 10% of dying people at the end of life. Right now, one in four people in the UK with a terminal illness, do not get the care or support they deserve at the end of their lives.

Make a tangible difference to the lives of dyslexic adults and children in Scotland - join our amazing team of Helpline volunteers! Do you have good listening skills? Are you able to put people at their ease over the telephone? Can you remain objective and level headed when faced with difficult or emotional phone calls? Do you want to make a difference? If yes to all of the above, we would love to hear from you. About the Helpline The Dyslexia Scotland Helpline has been running many years and receives up to 2000 enquiries each year. In complete confidentiality, our trained Helpline advisers listen to questions and signpost to information and help on dyslexia-related issues in Scotland. “We are a friendly voice and listening ear at the end of the phone who can help to make sense of the huge amount of information which is available.” About the role You can be based in our office or at home. You will need IT skills sufficient to be able to access the internet and respond to email enquiries. Timewise – all we ask is that you commit to one regular morning or afternoon each week. We will be able to cover any time you need away from the Helpline for holidays etc. All training will be provided

Be the heart of the action, the organiser behind our community collections and become a Collections Host Volunteer You’ll be the friendly face that keeps everything running smoothly at busy locations like supermarkets, train stations, high streets and shopping centres. You’ll support our volunteer collectors, inspire generosity from the public, and help raise vital funds for Marie Curie services.
