Branch Social Media Volunteer (North Lanarkshire Branch)

Description

We are currently developing our team of volunteers at our North Lanarkshire Branch and are seeking a Social Media Volunteer to help promote branch activities on Facebook and support good communication with followers of the branch.

The role will involve communicating with the committee and gathering information for social media each week and regularly updating this to the branch social media page to help keep it active.

Are you:

Confident using Facebook
Able to write clear and accurate online posts
Able to access a computer with internet access.
Confident using Outlook, Word and Microsoft Teams
Able to reliably commit 1- 2 hours a week

These are 30-minute sessions called SP-ARK: Suicide Prevention – Awareness, Resource, Knowledge Attend events and run stalls such as Pride, county fairs, wellbeing days, University freshers’ fairs, and fundraising events. We have an exciting opportunity to get involved with our North Lanarkshire Branch and help out at their Coffee Group in Motherwell. The Coffee Group provides an opportunity for autistic adults to meet in a relaxed, safe environment to gently socialise, enjoy some peer support and help reduce feelings of isolation. We already have some great volunteers involved in this work, and we are keen to recruit more to develop the group. Do you have personal experience of autism and want to make a difference in your local community? Are you: Approachable, patient and understanding of the needs of others? Confident and able to speak to new people attending a group and make them feel welcome? Able to reliably commit a few hours a month to attend and support at our Coffee Group?
